Videonale Parcours
This year, with the Videonale Parcours, VIDEONALE.14 reaches out beyond the museum into Bonn’s Macke district. In cooperation with Bonn institutions, project rooms and the -1/MinusEins experimental laboratory of KHM Cologne, Videonale creates a programme of 12 exhibition projects.
All the works can be viewed during the opening weekend from February 14 to 17, 2013.
1. August Macke Haus, Bornheimer Straße 96, Bonn
Michael Schmitt - Installation
In cooperation with -1/Minus1 Experimentallabor der KHM
A sign, projected in mirror image, glows on a house wall. The original, an advertising poster of a fitness studio, is located on the opposite side of the street. Once again one has to question the use of public space.

2. Bonner Kunstverein, Hochstadenring 22, Bonn
Clea Stracke & Verena Seibt – Musen Bad Video
In cooperation with -1/Minus1 Experimentallabor der KHM
People taking a bath or a sauna move through the museum and fill it with new life: Filmed in Kunstmuseum Bonn, “Musen Bad” (The Muses’ Bath) continues “an artists’ examination of the museum as a place”, which began in the Kunstmuseum itself. Art and contemplation draw closer to one another, contexts change but remain clearly defined.
Maribel Chávez – Wonderful Neo Colonial Lima Installation
In cooperation with -1/Minus1 Experimentallabor der KHM
Presidential election 2011 in Peru: Facebook users comment on the election campaign, including racist remarks about a candidate with indigenous roots. Chávez addresses the social reality of Peru, which is marked by latent racism.

3. Das Esszimmer, Mechenstraße 25, Bonn
Doris Schmid und Petra Egg Installation
In their site-specific video installation Doris Schmid and Petra Egg weave a web from Berlin to Vienna to Bonn. Among other things it catches a fly and the passion for an Argentinian.

4. Frankenbad, Adolfstraße 45, Bonn
Nico Joana Weber – Lido Mixed-Media-Installation
In cooperation with -1/MinusEins Experimentallabor der KHM
Using photo- and video works showing pool architectures from different periods the installation takes a look at baths as a socio-cultural phenomenon.

Pia Schauenburg – Lied der Deutschen Audio-Installation
In cooperation with -1/MinusEins Experimentallabor der KHM
Unity, justice and freedom: Native speakers perform the German anthem in different languages. The installation reflects on the state of Germany as a multicultural nation.
Tapemosphere #21
The art collective Tapemosphere (Balz Isler, Block Barley, Béla Pablo Janssen) uses magnetic tapes in an aleatoric sound installation where, running in endless loops, they overlay one another and continually reinvent themselves. Tapemosphere elevates the randomness of the moment to the driving force of their compositions. A homage to time and space.

Stefanie Pluta – International Set-up Installation

The use of flags in public spaces is the background for Pluta’s work. She plays with the perception of existing sign systems by minimally interfering into them.

Ascan Breuer – Blick zurück ins Zentrum des Blicks Video-Installation
In cooperation with -1/MinusEins Experimentallabor der KHM
A boy gazes at us, behind him a stretch of dirty standing water. The context of the presentation reinforces the accusation, which we believe to see in the boy's eyes. But it still remains our own interpretation.

Alexander Basile –Emerging Sculpture 4 Video-Installation

The scene is placed in a skating rink on the Museum Square. Poetic landscapes meet clip-like close-ups of a figure skater condensing into a sculptural moment.

Julia Weißenberg – Snowstorm Video-Installation

A mental exerciser, a laptop and a painting: Snowstorm questions the relation between analog and digital memory storage.

9. SSZ Sued, Otto-Fischer-Straße 5, Köln
Sebastian Freytag Installation
A link between Dusseldorf’s artists, Cologne’s Off gallery and the city of Bonn. In his work “shift work” Sebastian Freytag uses surrounding architectural elements in order to re-code them.
