With our best wishes for the New Year, Videonale Bonn is starting this year’s program. The opening function is a cooperation with the Bonn art room DAS ESSZIMMER, and features an event from the series HASENHERZ mit Anderwald + Grond (Wien). Guest artist is Christine de la Garenne (Berlin) with her solo exhibition blindspotting in DAS ESSZIMMER. Her video work Bokker was last exhibited at VIDEONALE.11.

The concept of the HASENHERZ series was based on Schönberg’s Verein für musikalische Privataufführung (Society for Private Musical Performances) founded in 1918. Its intention, to provide an understanding of modern music, is applied here to the media experimental film and lyrics. Where the goal of the role model was “to provide artists and art lovers with a true and exact knowledge of modern music”, selected works of experimental film/video and lyrics will be closely examined. The selected films will be shown once, after this they will be the subject of a mutual discussion and then they will be shown for a second time.
